This fin’s fuller than normal leading edge, combined with the slender tipped but full-based template targets smooth rail turns while harnessing maximum power. Usually powering a hull type shape or mid-length surfboard this fin excels in combination with thin rails and vee to flat bottom. It has been noted that this design: feels good at low speed, has heaps of power with the stiffer flex, has proper hold in all phases of a turn, and has a perfectly balanced feel.

As part of our Volan Fin Collection, the PHD’sare finely tuned withonly the best precision foilsand are subsequentlyloadedwith the mostideal amount of flex. Each fin isuniquelycrafted with care here at ourfactory in Santa Barbara, and go through the strictest quality control. Fins made with Volan fiberglass are properly aligned for optimal weave orientation and have very high performance flex characteristics with the flexcomingmorefrom the body of the fin rather than just at the tip.
