To keep the boards performance DHD has kept the rails low, especially through the tail of the board. This, along with a fairly straight rail outline, gives the board endless speed and drive.
A slightly lowered rocker gives this board plenty of up and go speed which has allowed DH to tone down its single concave which helps free the board up through turns, especially when the waves are a little softer.
The original DX1 PHASE 3 design file began with Parko, Joel Parkinson, and was ridden in numerous contests and free surfing clips. Fast forwarding to 2015, and after a few adjustments to the file, the DX1 was crowned #1 by Julian Wilson in the blind surfboard testing “Stab In the Dark” project.
Afterits success in “Stab In The Dark”, thissurfboard soon became a team favourite, especially for Jack Freestone. After some more feedback and a few more alterations, it became the JF DX1. |
