Its been over 10 years since the Epic V14 was released. In that time, it achieved notable wins in elite competitions around the world, including the Molokai Challenge, and more recently became the boat to beat in the Chattajack on the Tennessee River. Designed for the paddler with elite-level stability, the V14 was meant for moderate ocean conditions and has also been considered the fastest surfski on the market in flat water.
Now, the Gen 2 V14 reimagines the design for racing in classic big ocean conditions. Epic has built on the downwind success of the Gen 3 V12, while still maintaining the legendary V14 speed. The speed allows elite paddlers to jump up and over to the next wave, while increased rocker provides greater maneuverability surfing the wave. Slightly more stable than the Gen 1 model, and less stable than the V12, the new V14 is quicker than the V12, delivering an all-round exhilarating experience for paddlers with the skills to match it. It is ten centimeters longer than the V12 Gen 3, giving it more boat run in flat-water. In a few big international races late in 2024, where G2 V14 prototypes were the boat of choice for Epic athletes, she came in strong! Our team athletes are thrilled with this design, and we expect more great results in 2025.
Regarding the V14, its the easiest boat I have ever paddled in the runs and chop. – Oscar Jones
The V14 thrives in all conditions, offering an effortless paddling experience. This elite surfski is easy to handle while delivering top-tier performances in races. Whether youre training or racing the V14 ensures efficiency and speed.- Danielle Richards
Whether tackling exciting downwind conditions or racing through a flat-water time trial, the Gen 2 V14 embodies the perfect blend of elite-level stability, superb surfing, and top end boat speed.
NOTE: The Gen 2 V14 is optimized for paddlers weighing 60-85 kg (132 lbs. 187 lbs.). The hump under the calf area has been lowered for shorter paddlers. Larger paddlers weighing up to approximately 90 kg will still do well, as the boat is very fast and efficient.
