This class is for kids ages 8 to 10 who have completed our level 1 class, and want to continue to improve their skills! We will continue to work on all of the fundamentals introduced in our intro class, and we will be able to introduce some more advanced skills.

On our first day, we will take some time to meet the students, instructors and parents, and learn of any personal goals that the kids have for the class. We can then get in our solar heated pool to brush up on our wet exits and bracing strokes. Well then head to the lake or a flat section of the Animas to get comfortable in our boats, and go over our paddle strokes and river maneuvers.

We will cover basics of how rivers flow, and how to safely navigate them. We will also begin running longer, and slightly more challenging sections of the Animas as the class progresses. By the end of the week, we the kids will have a solid set of fundamentals, and a passion for whitewater! This class includes all gear and transportation.
